HLTAID014 Provide Advanced First aid (previously HLTAID006)
HLTAID014 Provide Advanced First Aid
Overview/Content
This course develops the skills and knowledge required to provide an advanced first aid response, including management of the incident and other first aiders, until the arrival of medical or other assistance.
This unit is often required of workplaces or organisations where first aiders may be relied upon to coordinate and manage the response to the incident until professionals arrive and manage cases such as major trauma, sudden cardiac arrest, management of large incidents and treatment of emotionally disturbed and drug affected casualties. Additionally, the course may also put a greater theoretical focus on human anatomy to help students understand not just what to do but why they do it.
