Blended Online Mental Health First Aid in the Community

Overview/Content
The Blended MHFA Community Course has been adapted from the Standard Mental Health First Aid Course for adults.

In this informative and practical course, you will learn about the signs and symptoms of common and disabling mental health (psychological safety) problems in adults, how to provide initial help, where and how to get professional help, what sort of help has been shown by research to be effective, and how to provide mental health first aid in a crisis situation using a practical, evidence-based action plan.

Mental health first aid skills learnt by participants in this course can be applied in any setting. Course content includes case-studies, videos and resources tailored to the learning needs of community/public course participants.

Delivery Mode
Designed for increased flexibility, this Mental Health First Aid course is delivered in a blended mode. This includes a combination of online (eLearning) and an Instructor-led component which can be delivered either via face-to-face or via an online workshop.

  • 4 hours face-to-face training and assessment and online e-Learning

  • 2 x 2 hours and 30 minutes live virtual classroom training and assessment and online e-Learning

Qualification Issued
Participants will be issued with either a 'Blended Online Mental Health First Aid in the Community' or 'Blended Face-to-Face Mental Health First Aid in the Community' Statement of Completion, depending on whether they complete the Instructor-led component face-to-face or via live virtual classroom training.
