The real cost of workplace injuries
According to a survey by the Australian Bureau of Statistics, 58 out of every 1000 workers experienced an injury or illness in the workplace in 2009–10, resulting in an absence from work. A recent study by Safe Work Australia estimated that these work-related incidents cost our economy over $60 billion a year.

Whether you’re in construction, mining, education or healthcare, the trips, falls, stresses and strains all add up – and they aren’t always entirely preventable. So how can we equip ourselves and empower each other with the tools to take action when they do occur, to minimise the impact of injuries on our workers’ lives – and our business’ productivity?
