This program aims to provide the essential knowledge and skills required for a support worker to recognise those at risk of developing a pressure injury and implement appropriate prevention and/or management strategies. Participants will learn the risk factors associated with pressure injury development, the classification stages of pressure injuries, common strategies to prevent pressure injury development (including the Braden Scale tool) and how to manage pressure injuries.
