This course provides support workers with the knowledge and skills to protect themselves and their clients from infectious diseases in accordance with organisational infection control procedures.
Our health practitioner trainers will engage with support workers and explore the challenges they face within their environment and supported independent living centres.
Support workers participants will learn about safe work practices including the use of personal hygiene practices and equipment, management of a needle stick injury, management of blood and body fluid spills and the safe disposal of syringes and contaminated waste.
