This training explores mental health in the workplace, some crisis situations that may impact on work performance and the referral process.

• The impact of mental health in the workplace

• What is mental illness, anxiety disorders, depression, substance use problems

• How to have – “The Conversation” with an employee in the workplace

• How to assist colleagues, direct reports or others in the workplace that may have developed a mental health illness or are experiencing a mental health crisis

• Supporting an employee at risk of suicide

• Promoting a mentally healthy workplace

• Develop self-care strategies

• Where to direct the employee to seek help

What is a USI?

The Unique Student Identifier or USI is a reference number made up of 10 numbers and letters that:

  • creates a secure online record of your recognised training and qualifications gained in Australia, even from different training organisations
  • will give you access to your training records and transcripts (available in mid 2016)
  • can be accessed online, anytime and anywhere
Do I need a USI?

The Student Identifiers Act in 2014 requires that all students enrolled in nationally recognised training provide their Registered Training Organisation (RTO) with their USI. This is applicable to all HLT and VIC units.

How long is my course valid?

Provide First Aid, Asthma and Anaphylaxis are valid for 3 years. It is recommended by the ARC that Provide CPR is updated annually
