HLTAID003 Provide first aid

This first aid course unit (previously known as senior first aid or level 2 first aid) develops the knowledge and skills to provide first aid and care including CPR to an ill and/or injured person, to coordinate first aid until the arrival of medical assistance such as an ambulance and effectively communicate and document the incident.


Premium Health offers three delivery methods for HLTAID003 Provide first aid.
  • Online - 10+ hours online learning plus 3.5 hour face-to-face assessment
  • 1 day with hardcopy workbook - Study time plus 1 day face-to-face training and assessment
  • 1 day with PDF workbook - Study time plus 1 day face-to-face training and assessment

    • Altered conscious states (seizures, fainting, head injuries)

    What is a USI?

    The Unique Student Identifier or USI is a reference number made up of 10 numbers and letters that:

    • creates a secure online record of your recognised training and qualifications gained in Australia, even from different training organisations
    • will give you access to your training records and transcripts (available in mid 2016)
    • can be accessed online, anytime and anywhere
    How long is my course valid?

    Provide First Aid, Asthma and Anaphylaxis are valid for 3 years. It is recommended by the ARC that Provide CPR is updated annually

    Do I need a USI?

    The Student Identifiers Act in 2014 requires that all students enrolled in nationally recognised training provide their Registered Training Organisation (RTO) with their USI. This is applicable to all HLT and VIC units.
