Epilepsy: Administration of Emergency Medication (Part 2)

The Administration of Emergency Medication course will provide participants with the underpinning knowledge and skills required to administer emergency medication for the treatment of seizures in the community. In Part 2 of the Administration of Emergency Medication course participants will learn about the individual persons epilepsy plans and the person’s specific emergency medication needs. Participants will learn how to administer emergency medication in accordance with the persons individual plans. Refer Product Description below, pre-requisite training requirements apply.

In Part 2 participants will learn how to:

  • Read and understand the individual’s epilepsy plans
  • Understand the individuals seizure and post-seizure activity in accordance with the individual’s EMP
  • Confidently manage the administration of emergency medication in accordance with the individual’s EMMP

What is a USI?

The Unique Student Identifier or USI is a reference number made up of 10 numbers and letters that:

  • creates a secure online record of your recognised training and qualifications gained in Australia, even from different training organisations
  • will give you access to your training records and transcripts (available in mid 2016)
  • can be accessed online, anytime and anywhere
Do I need a USI?

The Student Identifiers Act in 2014 requires that all students enrolled in nationally recognised training provide their Registered Training Organisation (RTO) with their USI. This is applicable to all HLT and VIC units.

How long is my course valid?

Provide First Aid, Asthma and Anaphylaxis are valid for 3 years. It is recommended by the ARC that Provide CPR is updated annually
